Lets Talk Tanks

These tops are dedicated to my two beautiful sisters, Jeanie Waimana Jefferson and Luka Rā Jefferson.

I’m lucky enough to be the third sister, Xanthe Mārama Jefferson.

💚☀️🌸

The Let’s Talk Tanks is a small but special collection to me, dedicating each colour way to each sister. These two women mean the world to me and have supported me through everything, especially with Vida The Label. This brand wouldn’t be what it is without my family. Although we’ve all grown up and are now living on different islands and even in different countries, not a day goes by where I don’t miss them.

The Waimana Top is for Jeanie Bell Waimana Jefferson. ‘Waimana’ - magic waters. Waimana connects back to where our mum was raised, a small town just outside of Whakatāne, it’s also where the original “Vida,” our great-grandmother, lived. Jeanie is seven years older than me and has always felt like another mother figure in my life. So much more than a sister, she’s the one who gave me the confidence to dream big and do what I love today.

The Rā Top is dedicated to Luka Rā Jefferson. ‘Rā’ - sun. The colours in this top reminds me of a soft sunset and sunrise which felt like the perfect reflection of her. Luka is four years older than me, and growing up, I always wanted to be just like her. I copied what she wore, what she did (drove her crazy), and now I get to design clothes that she wears. It’s funny how life turns out, how time changes things.

Finally, the Mārama Top is named after me, Xanthe Mārama Jefferson. ‘Mārama’ - moon. Including my own name in this collection felt like a way to honour how our childhood shaped me. I was lucky enough to be the youngest sister, raised and guided every step of the way by my older sisters. They helped shape who I am today, and I’ll always be grateful.

Having their endless support is what drives my confidence and has proven as one of the greatest blessings life could give me.
